This is a week course which leads on from the basic and offers Participants a much more intense study of bushcraft. The subjects covered are fire by friction, water, shelter construction (students to spend at least 2 nights in their shelter) basic carving, trapping and preparing game. Gathering natures wild harvest, edible and useful mushrooms. Primitive fishing skills will also be covered. There will be opportunities to watch local wildlife and try your hand at tracking. This course is run from a base camp in the woods and students are under a tarp/basha for the first few days, then you will be encouraged to sleep in the shelter you have made. The course is fully catered with instructors providing your first meal, after which you make meals together as a group in a rota. All specialist equipment is provided and you are encouraged to bring your own. Equipment can be borrowed. Please do not bring your own axe as one may be provided if required. The course starts the night before the start date at 19.00hrs, so you get a full 7 days, and ends 15.00hrs on the final day.
